Homeownership Program
Abilene Housing Authority's Homeownership Program enables Housing Choice Voucher holders to use their voucher towards the purchase of a home, promoting self-sufficiency, housing stability, and greater investment in the community. This is an exciting opportunity for participants to build wealth and enjoy the advantages of homeownership.
In this income-based program, participants pay the portion of their mortgage that is affordable to them while their voucher covers a portion as monthly mortgage assistance.
AHA's Homeownership Program is open and accepting applications. The basic eligibility criteria are:
- Must have received Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance from Abilene Housing Authority for at least one year
- Must have graduated from the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program or completed twelve (12) months on the FSS program
If you meet these two criteria and are interested in homeownership, please review the following documents.
